The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supervises and coordinates the activities of room attendants, house attendants, public area cleaners, and floor supervisors. He/She assists in managing and directing the day-to-day operations of all housekeeping and laundry functions. He/She participates in and enforces quality assurance standards for the Housekeeping Department, as well as departmental cost control measures
Responsibilities:
- Mainly assists the Executive Housekeeper in supervising and coordinating the activities of room attendants, public area cleaners, floor supervisors, and laundry operations.
- Ensures all rooms and public areas are cleaned according to company standards, including pest control activities.
- Assists the Executive Housekeeper in preparing the annual housekeeping budget and controlling costs.
- Maintains par stock levels of guest supplies, cleaning supplies, linen, and uniforms.
- Assists in organizing inventories of linen, uniforms, and fixed assets.
- Develops and implements housekeeping systems and procedures, and prepares reports for the Executive Housekeeper.
- Attends to and resolves guest complaints, and plans, controls, and supervises horticultural activities.
- Assists in organizing on-the-job training and evaluating its effectiveness, and approves departmental functional manuals.
- Conducts daily inspections of all concerned areas and reports any defects to the Executive Housekeeper.
- Coordinates the preventive maintenance schedule of rooms and public areas.
- Prepares daily room assignments for attendants and checks all vacant, occupied, arrival rooms, and turndown service.
- Attends promptly to guest requests and handles guest complaints.
- Maintains an environmentally friendly approach by reducing waste, recycling when possible, and reusing whenever applicable.
- Has knowledge of safety rules and emergency procedures.
- Performs other duties and services assigned by the Executive Housekeeper, General Manager, Resident Manager, and Operations Manager.
- Has overall responsibility for the Housekeeping Department, including training, key control, and lost-and-found management.
- Coordinates with all necessary departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Is highly responsible and reliable, with the ability to work cohesively with colleagues.
Requirements:
- Degree or Higher Diploma in Hotel Management or any other equivalent educational qualification.
- Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry operations.
- Adequate knowledge of personalized service principles and processes.
- Familiarity with the latest industry trends.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
- Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping experience in a supervisory capacity.
- At least 2 years of line-level experience in all aspects of the Housekeeping Department.
- Hands-on experience in guest services and all housekeeping activities.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to think outside the box, drive change, and identify operational efficiencies.
