The Health & Safety Officer supports the implementation and continuous improvement of the organization’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) management systems. The role ensures compliance with Group policies, legal requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and healthy workplace across all operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce the Group’s safety policies, procedures, Safe Systems of Work, inspections, and action plans to ensure compliance.
  • Lead the risk assessment process and advise on the implementation of effective control measures.
  • Enforce guidelines for subcontractors’ health and safety requirements and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety plans, analyze trends, and provide reports to the Head of the HSSE Unit.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness is adequate by verifying emergency procedures and conducting drill exercises.
  • Assist with incident investigations to identify root causes and make recommendations to avoid recurrence.
  • Recommend solutions to health and safety-related issues, improvement opportunities, and new preventive measures.
  • Support the Head of the HSSE Unit in all aspects of health and safety.
  • Support applicable internal and external health and safety audits and inspections.
  • Maintain sustainable collaboration with the Health and Safety Manager regarding training and planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of the HSSE Unit.

Requirements:

  • University degree.
  • Diploma or certificate holder in safety management, occupational health, or any other related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of proven experience in the health and safety field; experience in a corporate safety role is preferable.
  • Thorough understanding of the development and implementation of health and safety management systems and plans.
  • Ability to produce reports, with good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office, internet, and email.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Myanmar languages.
