The Structural Design Engineer is responsible for performing structural analysis and design works in compliance with relevant design codes and project requirements. The role involves preparing design calculations, drawings, and technical documents, as well as coordinating with internal teams to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely submission of deliverables.

Job Description

  • Achieve the targets set by the Design & Coordination Manager.
  • Check the required design codes and specifications (ACI, BS, MNBC, EN).
  • Collect design criteria and geotechnical data from the corresponding sections.
  • Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
  • Prepare layouts and detail portions of projects based on schematic layouts provided by the Project Lead Engineer.
  • Responsible for schematic or conceptual layouts when qualified.
  • Provide drawings for own designs and produce sketches to be incorporated into drawings by Designers/Drafters.
  • Research design options and document findings for the Project Lead Engineer.
  • Prepare, check, and submit all calculations, design reports, and design drawings to the Design & Coordination Manager and Department Head for review and recommendation, and submit to the required parties for approval.
  • Check and prepare drawings (basic design, formwork, excavation, and reinforcement) based on the results of the basic design calculations.
  • Distribute approved and updated versions of drawings to relevant parties.
  • Store and update all calculation files (both hard and soft copies), including consultants’ comments on submitted calculations.
  • Check the calculations and drawings prepared by the in-house design team.
  • Follow workplace safety rules and regulations and remind team members to maintain safety awareness.

Requirements

  • B.E. (Civil) or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum (4) years of experience in a related position.
  • Proficient in design-related software.
  • Able to work under pressure and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
