The Procurement Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s end-to-end procurement activities to ensure cost-effective, timely, and high-quality sourcing of goods and services. This role leads vendor management, purchasing strategies, and inventory optimization while ensuring compliance with company policies and franchisor requirements. The Procurement Team Leader works closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support business objectives, control costs, and maintain strong supplier relationships, particularly within the food and beverage sector.
Job Description
- Develop, establish, implement, and enforce supplier guidelines, obligations, and service level agreements for the organization.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships and effective communication with vendors and suppliers to consistently monitor performance.
- Monitor and analyze trends in company spending and inventory control to make recommendations and identify areas for potential cost savings.
- Remain current and knowledgeable about all F&B products to ensure optimal purchasing decisions.
- Analyze trends and market conditions related to current and future pricing, availability, lead time, and capacity of goods and services.
- Interview, identify, and qualify potential vendors and suppliers to secure more cost-effective sources of products and services.
- Define purchasing recommendations that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and key stakeholders.
- Handle and manage the full spectrum of procurement functions for local operations and liaise with the franchisor.
- Develop, communicate, and administer procurement team performance management, development plans, and appraisals.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field; diploma holders will also be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management (preferably in the bakery, food, retail services, or FMCG sector).
- Proven experience in sourcing and procurement and in building and managing vendor programs.
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Highly motivated and creative individual.
- Meticulous, with a strong eye for detail.
- Excellent team-building and leadership skills.
