Commitment

At Shwe Taung, sustainability is at the core of our strategy. We aim to create value for stakeholders while pursuing business practices that meet the wider social, environmental and economic needs of our society. We hope to become a catalyst for positive change in Myanmar through our expansive corporate social responsibility programmes. We fight against coerced labour, child labour and discrimination of any form, and we have a zero-tolerance approach regarding fraud and corruption.

We fully embrace the following principles, and we expect our stakeholders to do the same:

• The United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
• The United Nations’ Global Compact, which we support since 2013,
• The ILO’s core conventions and principles,

To structure our non-financial reporting, we used the Global Reporting Initiative G4. The Group is transitioning to adopt the GRI Standards. The Group is currently working to reframe its approach regarding sustainability.
